The modern-day metropolitan is an increasingly populated complexity of lively spaces in which an epidemic of loneliness thrives. Rather than using art and music to bring a large group of disconnected individuals together, ENCAPSULATE’s theatre program aims to embrace loneliness and use music to intimately connect a small group of pre-connected individuals, contrasting them to the cold inhumanity of vast industrial space. Situated in the disconnection and isolation of Gore Cove, the visitor descends through the looming petroleum product terminal to their own private theatre pod where they are both performer and audience.
