Returning to the Cove

The Project is situated on the foreshore of Gore Cove, Greenwich, sitting next to an industrial relic of Sydney Harbour Viva Energy Station and the harbourside bushland of Gore Cove Reserve & Berry Island Reserve. The juxtaposition of the complex histories of the cove between the industrial and the rich cultural histories of the Cammeraygal People of the Eora Nation created a motif of ‘returning’. My Project introduces the element of fire to the cove as a means of regeneration, guiding, warmth, gathering and socialising to further connect the local community and theatre goers to the cove.
