Imagine a theatre nestled under the Glebe Bridge, revitalizing an often-overlooked space into a vibrant community hub. This project reanimates an area split between a residential and an industrial-commercial neighborhood, largely overshadowed by the ANZAC Bridge. Here, the design embraces the bridge’s unique setting, offering a distinctive stage for performances while allowing the swing bridge to continue operating. Unlike conventional theatres, it uses flexible PVC panels that let in natural, diffused light, creating a visual connection between the theatre and its surroundings. The subtly sloped, barrier-free stage invites immersive interaction, making art accessible and reconnecting the community.
