Berrys Bay Theatre

The Berrys Bay Theatre is a pivotal element in the transformation of Waverton Peninsula, a site historically marked by industrial use. Set within newly greened parklands, the theatre integrates with the surrounding landscape, bridging the site’s past and present. The site’s elevated walkways trace the rugged coastlines, while steel-frame bridges lead to the theatre’s hovering wharf. The theatre juxtaposes solid and light materials: a robust concrete base supports a lighter steel framework above, creating a balance between the site’s industrial heritage and natural surroundings. The design’s openness amplifies its connection to the landscape, with the auditorium partially exposed to the environment.
