Comparing Planning Systems

A comparative analysis of the local planning systems in Coffs Harbour, NSW and Bunbury, WA, with a thematic focus on planning for tourism development. The planning systems and approaches of each locality are similar in their hierarchy of authority and legislation. The greatest disparity was recognised as the relationship between, and integration of, statutory and non-statutory planning instruments.
