Thrive: Blacktown Haven

Thrive: Blacktown Haven is a sustainable community centre and residential unit. Located in the heart of Blacktown, the site is within close proximity to the train station and local city centre. The concept behind the Haven was to create a space for the local community to gather, live and breathe – both indulgent in comfort but yet encouraging its users to grow. It features both a community centre and a 12 residential units. The community centre features a central communal kitchen space attached to a cafe, multi-functional halls and meeting rooms. The residential portion of the project includes 12 2-bedroom units with shared kitchen and living spaces. The main goal was to introduce sustainability through passive design strategies and material choice.
