The Hidden Theatre

The Lavender Bay Hidden Theatre project revolves around 4 concepts established in response to extensive research and mapping of the site. Connection to Country acknowledges the site’s Indigenous heritage, embracing the natural and cultural significance of Goowebahree. Connection between People focusing on fostering a vibrant social space that welcomes diverse communities and encourages socialisation. Connecting Key Spaces aiming to seamlessly integrate the surrounding landmarks of Luna Park, Wendy’s Secret Garden, North Sydney and Milsons Point. A Historical Foundation which honours Lavender Bay’s storied past—from its role as a gathering place and boatbuilding hub to its evolution as an artist’s haven.
