Sleeping Giants

The mine now articulates a collage of monuments. Concrete plinths repair the site, guarding its boundaries. Repurposed steel and mining infrastructure creates a envelope of walls. Mass monolithic walls extend beyond the wound, expanding the territory and diseccting the landfill which once lay within Chuquicamata. Infrastructure lays dormant, serving ironically as a mere backdrop to the wound it created.
