This project envisions a floating theatre at Ballast Point Park that redefines the relationship between performance and place by integrating with Sydney Harbour’s natural and historical landscape. Inspired by the site’s transformation from an industrial fuel depot to a public park, the design embraces flexibility through the push and pull concept—using operable fabric curtains and extendable stages to adapt to various performance and environmental needs. The theatre offers three distinct spaces, each engaging with the surrounding views and atmosphere, creating an immersive, adaptable venue that bridges past and future in a dynamic cultural experience.
