My project in Blacktown is a design solution that blends sustainability with community engagement to address food security. At the heart of the concept is an edible canopy, a living, green resource that provides fresh produce while transforming the urban environment. The modular co-living spaces offer flexible arrangements to suit diverse lifestyles, fostering inclusivity and shared living. A central community hub serves as an educational space, where residents can learn about native foods and sustainable practices through workshops and hands-on experiences. By integrating food production with daily life, this project empowers healthy living, promotes collaboration, and builds a resilient, thriving ecosystem.
Under the edible canopy, community members gather in shared green spaces. This design fosters social connections and local food resilience, creating a lush, sustainable urban retreat for relaxation and collaboration.
'Beneath the Canopy’ welcomes visitors with cascading greenery and soft, natural lighting. This sustainable design integrates native plantings, enhancing biodiversity and inviting the community into a peaceful, ecologically rich space
