'Garru Guyaa' - Going that Way

Perspectives, by Benjamin Klackin

'Garru Guyaa'

'Garru Guyaa - Going that Way', explores the notion of the interstice, the in-between. Through its piercing facade walls, the building commands movement through a choreographed sequencing of spaces, breaking up the built form with pockets of unaltered, raw landscape. The scheme invites audiences to traverse through the contours of the terrain, sinking to an equal plane, and becoming one with their surroundings. The purpose-built project seeks to aid the Gamay Rangers, an Indigenous environmental conservation group, with their operations through a sensitive design solution, empathetic to their philosophy of community building and environmental preservation.
