Atmospheric Interventions at the Atmosphere Design School Campus

Atmosphere Design School

Atmosphere is the medium of architecture, but in our confusion, many architects believe or design as if they believe its medium is a spectacle. The Atmosphere Design School aims to set a refined pedagogical revision of architectural design that is centred on atmospheric thinking. Enrolled students from spatial-oriented disciplines are taught, trained and fostered to create assigned types of atmospheres in their respective tutorials that crystallise their understanding of spaces in a haptic, sensorial and existential register. By proposing a pedagogical system of sampling, scaling and staging, students are thereby cultivated to design 'good buildings' for architecture, for architecture's sake.
