Located on Cockatoo Island, this project envisions a School of Comparative Linguistics and Cultural Anthropology in Architecture, integrating linguistic diversity with architectural design to create culturally resonant, inclusive spaces.

Lingua-Driven Architecture

This project, The Poetics of Space: Linguistic Influence on Architectural Expression, investigates how language shapes architectural design by influencing perception, spatial cognition, and cultural expression. Using the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis as a framework, it explores linguistic determinism and relativity, examining how architects can integrate linguistic diversity to create culturally sensitive, emotionally resonant spaces. Through theoretical analysis and case studies, the project argues that language serves as an “invisible blueprint” that guides the design of environments reflective of diverse cognitive and cultural landscapes, highlighting the importance of linguistic awareness in developing inclusive, meaningful architecture.
