Bridging the gap between CALD users and healthdirect through "Highway to Health"

Navigating Australia’s healthcare system can feel overwhelming for CALD communities. Our highway offers clear direction and guidance, helping you confidently reach the proper health services and support you need.

Highway To Health

We were tasked with developing an innovative solution/strategy that targets and engages priority populations to increase adoption of the SFD, and strengthen trust in virtual care. While the SFD has been successful so far, uptake among priority populations, remains lower due to low awareness, low system literacy, and entrenched reliance on EDs. By catering to the specific groups and their unique needs, we can tackle this wicked problem. This report will focus on CALD communities in NSW. Our solution focuses on streamlining & simplifying the journey to the SFD for CALD populations. We aim to embed “navigational aids” at key touch points along this journey, to consistently guide consumers towards the SFD from the time they enter Australia, and throughout their residency. These “navigational aids” act as clear signals that build awareness, reduce confusion, and strengthen trust in not only the SFD, but the entire healthcare system.
