Gaming for Rehabilitation

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) faces challenges with inmates engagement and motivation in its correctional education programs. This project proposes a innovative intervention: integrating a serious game, "Saving the Tree," into the existing Success Ladder LMS. The strategy transforms the learning management system from a static repository into an immersive, narrative-driven platform. By framing educational modules as quests within a rehabilitative story, the project aims to boost intrinsic motivation, enhance pro-social skill development, and improve overall participation, thereby supporting more effective rehabilitation outcomes and contributing to reduced recidivism.
