The centre offers its first glimpse through the waiting area that opens into a central courtyard, which is a vibrant social hub for interactions, play, community events, and workshops.
The transitional corridor spine acts as a social threshold by encouraging informal casual interactions while connecting different spaces around the central courtyard and gently guiding users throughout the centre.
The grid based design traces a journey from park-facing public zones to secluded private spaces. Age groups are separated for specific needs, with older users overlooking the park from beneath the elevated group therapy block.
Elevated amongst trees, the treehouses are connected to the younger age group’s discussion spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and offering a playful escape for reflection, post-session unwinding, and gentle moments of solitude.
The structure is made of 3x4m prefabricated modules of walls, floors, and roof components, designed for rapid assembly, disassembly, and transport. The grid system enables flexible, reusable spaces, extending the structure's lifespan and reducing embodied carbon.
The model showcases spatial organisation, materiality and use of open and closed spaces to highlight the interplay of solid and void modules.
