Render. A vertical tension between suspended walkways, staircases and a new natural terraim.The former tram depot is to exist in a constant state of flux, promoting experimentation over static preservation.
Physical model. A new structural system encloses the original trusswork of the Newtown Tram Depot without interference.
Axonometric. Suspended passageways connect users from Newtown Train Station to adjacent residential streets. A rewild terrain instils a space for contemplative stillness within the city.
Render. The former maintenance of trams now becomes the maintenance of gardens. A series of unassuming pavilions occupy the industrial site establishing a sense of domesticity and familiarity.
Physical model. A play on structure between old and new. Four new CHS columns envelop each existing column to support a new portal structure above.
Conceptual collage. What would become of the site in the future if the weeds and plants inside continued to grow? When inaction leads to new ways of interpreting heritage.
