Auburn Sport Centre

The proposed intervention redevelops 166–170 South Parade into an indoor sport and aquatic centre that addresses Auburn’s lack of public recreational space. Designed as a community “third space,” the facility offers swimming, open sports courts, climbing, a gym, and yoga within a compact vertical layout. To meet the structural needs of large-span sport and aquatic spaces, the design uses a steel truss system for major activity areas and an additional concrete tower for support services such as café, seating, bathrooms, and small-group programs. The intervention aims to provide accessible, multifunctional facilities that support Auburn’s diverse community.
