Visualisation of the Proposed Australian Pavilion: Architectural Prototypes for Nurturing the Threatened Ecology in Outback. Combining Vernacular and Innovative Building Strategies for Adaptive Living.

Syncing with Nature

This Thesis design proposed a Temporary Pavilion representing Australia in 2025 Osaka World Expo in Japan. Embracing the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. Exploring a potential new relationship between humans and nature—one that goes beyond coexisting to syncing with nature. It embarks on a journey of Architectural Prototypes for Nurturing the Threaten Ecology in Outback Australia, as a way to respect and acknowledge the history of the land while leveraging it to restore the lost ecosystem. By converging vernacular architecture with innovative technology, this relationship aspires to create both a physical and spiritual manifestation of ecological harmony.

The proposed Australian pavilion introduces architectural prototypes designed to nurture and support the threatened ecology of Outback. A serene space intended for visitors to find calm amidst the bustling Expo.

A low-profile configuration, designed to adhere to the pavilion’s passive, low-impact principles. It acts as a bridge between the human-built environment and nature. Creating an efficient thermal adaptation model.

Begins from the narrative of hydrology, originating from the Outback’s water streams. Forming a consistent language of the circulation pattern for the spatial programs as immersive experiences.

A place to inspire visitors and travelers, reminding us all of the shared privilege and joy of coexisting with nature, sustaining a harmonious balance and restore what has been lost.

Syncing with Nature extends an invitation: Attention, Engagement and Enlightenment. It highlights a biophilic network of forming the innate machinery through nonmechanical and passive adaptation to preserve resilience and vitality.
