Codesigning our suburbs

Our project aims to better integrate Sydney residents into their local planning process. Residents face complex planning proposals and are ill-informed on local projects, resulting in suburbs designed without community in mind. Beginning with a codesign workshop, participants learn more about their local council’s planning process and make suggestions for their area. These suggestions are then reviewed by the council, who will then install temporary popups stemming from the workshop ideas. Feedback is then collected, allowing the council to propose a final, permanent change. The desired result is stronger communities that feel empowered to make changes around them.
