Nestwell Healing Haven

The Mental Health and Integrated Community Centre redefines traditional institutional typologies by creating a warm, home-like environment that promotes healing. Inspired by Maggie’s Centres, the design replaces clinical rigidity with open, flowing spaces that encourage movement, interaction, and a sense of belonging. A communal kitchen and adaptable indoor–outdoor areas foster community engagement and well-being through social, physical, and contemplative activities. Sensitive to its heritage context, the centre employs timber, brick, and soft landscaping to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. The project ultimately envisions a therapeutic environment that feels less institutional and more like a haven of refuge, connection, and renewal.
