Metastasis

This project reconceives International House through a parasitic–metastatic framework, transforming an obsolescent structure into a renewed cultural organism. The design stages—extraction, renewal, and revascularisation—reimagine the building’s body as one whose spent energies are harvested, reorganised, and reintroduced as new architectural “cells.” Public programs anchor the ground plane while elevated, increasingly private functions culminate in the Sky Yarning Circle, a place of gathering, reflection, and Indigenous continuity. Circulation operates as a vascular system, linking organs, landscapes, and histories. The proposal becomes both architectural and cultural repair: a living structure that restores connection, regenerates site memory, and sustains future growth.
