The Modular Community

The modular community project focuses on creating pre-fabricated modules that are combined on-site to create clusters of houses that adapt to typography, environmental conditions, orientation, and function. With a large emphasis on private vs public space, the clusters create opportunities for people to meet and build a community, with opportunities for people to retreat to more private areas for more intimate moments. The community centre is the heart of the site, and the existing layout has been adapted slightly to preserve the existing building, whilst adding more facilities and opportunities for community socialisation.
