CareConnect: Designing Awareness and Trust in Digital Health

CareConnect

CareConnect is a design innovation to help CALD parents become aware of Healthdirect—and trust it. We researched the drivers of low awareness and mistrust, then developed an integrated solution that meets people where they are: Awareness (video pathway) at physical touchpoints — short, multilingual explainer videos in clinics, community centres, and pharmacies. Smart QR codes — instant access to Healthdirect via phone, placed on posters, flyers, and service counters. Social messaging with AI chatbots — guided help inside familiar apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger). Bilingual callback support — reassurance and follow-up from trained health workers. Together, these touchpoints aim to make Healthdirect visible, relatable, and trustworthy at the moment families need it most.
