Connection to country and community is achieved through the creation of three housing clusters, sitting on boardwalks surrounding a central communal building and two large communal courtyards.
Communal courtyards form the heart of REFRAMED. Semi public boardwalks connecting the clusters and large central courtyards act as a point of connection for the community as a whole.
Each house is stacked effectively to respond to the existing terrain while ensuring effective solar access throughout the day.
As well as creating connectivity, the boardwalks are stepped to ensure the dwellings touch lightly on country allowing vegetation, water and animals to grow, travel and thrive beneath.
Fostering a sense of physical and spiritual connection to country while ensuring connection to community encapsulate the core driving concepts behind REFRAMED.
