HSR CORRIDOR - STRATHFIELD 2060

What if Strathfield were Australia’s integrated High-Speed Rail urban centre? This project explores a design where underground infrastructure drives above-ground transformation. Centred on the idea of “the station as a city,” the proposal unites four connected precincts - Education, local centre, mixed-use, and residential - through a network of pedestrian corridors, green links, and vibrant public plazas. Each precinct responds to Strathfield’s urban character, enabling new density, permeability, and economic diversity. By embedding high-density living, active frontages, and multimodal connectivity around the future HSR hub, the plan transforms a commuter interchange into a dynamic destination bridging regional mobility with local identity.
